FIRST DEER #006 - DEAN

State: Virginia
Age: 10
Year of Harvest: 2026
Buck or Doe: Buck (3-pointer)
Who Were You With: Dad
The Story:
We were sitting in a double tree stand for about ten minutes when I spotted a buck at the far end of the field, around 110 yards out. He worked his way behind some brush and eventually came back out, and Dean spotted him before I did the second time. He settled in, I told him to take his rifle off safe, settle his crosshairs, and squeeze the trigger. Shot, and the deer fell in his tracks. When we got to him, he realized he was a 3 pointer, not a spike, and he’s been on cloud nine since.
(written by Dean’s dad)
What Do You Remember Most:
He asked if he needed ear muffs, and I told him it was okay if we didn’t have them. And he said he remembered most that he never heard the shot.
